Over the past five years, Governor J.B. Pritzker has dedicated his efforts to restoring economic stability, fortifying Illinois’ social safety network, promoting economic growth, and enhancing the quality of education in Chicago’s school systems. On February 21, 2024, Governor Pritzker presented his sixth Budget Address for Fiscal Year 2025. The primary focus of this year's proposal was to enhance health care access and outcomes alongside sustaining transformative investments in early education and childcare, the teacher pipeline, higher education, and initiatives combating poverty.
