A Letter to the HC3 Community: 1.20.2026

Greetings HC3 Members and Partners,

As we move further into 2026, I want to take a moment to reflect on nine years of shared learning, collaboration, and connection through the HC3 Platform. Whether you joined convenings, contributed insights, partnered on initiatives, or stayed engaged along the way, you helped shape a network grounded in curiosity, trust, and a shared commitment to strengthening Chicago’s health care ecosystem. It has been a privilege to steward this platform and to witness the collective impact made possible through your involvement.

At the close of 2025, we made the difficult decision to pause HC3 activities. This decision reflects the economic realities many of us continue to navigate and the importance of ensuring that time, energy, and resources remain sustainable and meaningful. HC3 was created to connect leaders across a broad ecosystem, and sustaining work at this scale requires significant capacity from staff, leadership, and community stakeholders who already give so much. Stepping back at this moment felt like the most responsible way to honor the priorities that allow all of us to best serve our city.

As part of this transition, I have stepped back from my day-to-day role at Third Horizon while remaining connected to the firm as a senior advisor. My Third Horizon email remains active, and I would welcome staying in touch and hearing updates on your efforts.

While HC3 enters a period of reflection, Third Horizon remains deeply committed to Chicago’s health care ecosystem. We hope you will stay connected as we listen, learn, and consider how HC3 may be reimagined and how this community’s needs may evolve in the future.

As a final reflection on 2025, we hosted our Q4 gathering late last year, which marked HC3’s final convening for the time being. The conversation brought together local and national thinkers to reflect on the current state of American health care. Thank you for being part of this community and for the dedication you bring to advancing health and well-being across Chicago. I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me to steward HC3 over the past six years in a city I am proud to call home.
